May 19, 2018 Onondaga, NY: The Onondaga Flames of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (@NYCBLbaseball) announced today that David Dennis will joins the Flames for the 2018 season as an assistant coach. David just completed his first season with the Willamette University Bearcats (@WillametteBSB) as Assistant Coach working with infielders and outfielders, while serving as the team’s first base coach.
Dennis has several years of experience as a player and a coach at various levels of baseball. He played collegiate ball at the College of Idaho from 2007-09. Dennis recently coached the Storm Lake White Caps, an expansion team in the Pioneer Collegiate Summer Baseball League. He led Storm Lake to a second place regular season finish and helped the Whitecaps win the PCSBL Championship.
He served as the vice president of the Reno Blue Devils Baseball Academy from 2010-13. He was a head coach for multiple teams with the Blue Devils, and was in charge of player development, scheduling, and travel. Dennis led his teams to multiple championships. He was chosen an All-Star Coach twice for Reno West Babe Ruth in Nevada. Also during his time in Nevada, he led multiple Babe Ruth Prep teams to League Championships and was selected as the All-Star manager in 2011 and 2012.
Prior to his head coaching experience in Nevada, he served as a head junior varsity coach and was in charge of summer baseball teams in 2009-10. In addition, he coached the Team USA 17-and-under squad in June of 2010 and was in charge of high school baseball players for the Team USA qualifying camp.
David holds a BA from the University of Nevada-Reno in General Studies and an emphasis in Health Sciences and an MBA from Corban University.
