Become an Onondaga Flame

The Onondaga Flames are always looking for talented baseball players who are currently playing baseball in college and have remaining college eligibility. We offer great coaching, wooden bat experience, scouting exposure and a great place to play.

Playing summer league baseball is a serious commitment.and roster spots are very limited. Team members will be obligated to pay a fee which helps to offset some of the cost of fielding the team.  The team plays a 50 game schedule over 60 days,

New Team

The team is the newest member in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (www.PGCBL.com) one of the fastest rising wooden bat summer leagues in the country. We are dedicated to building a premium summer league baseball franchise. While the team is new, the management is experienced. We have hired experienced front office professionals to help us bring fans to the ball park and to terrific baseball management to meet the competitive challenges of our new league.

Great Venue

OCC FrontWe play in the beautiful Onondaga Community College Alliance Stadium. Built in 2014, the stadium features a turf field, state-of-the-art lighting system, grandstand and bleacher seating, two ticket booths, concession stand and ample rest rooms.

 

 

PGCBL Rapidly Rising

PGCBL ImageThe Perfect Game CBL is rapidly becoming one of the best collegiate summer leagues in the country. In only six years the league has been rated in the top 10 by industry media. Thirty-seven (37) former PGCBL players were selected in the MLB first-year player draft, including ten (10) in the first round and the third (3) overall pick.

MLB Draft 2016The league is constantly scouted. At this year’s All Star Game 15 MLB scouts were on hand. Thirty-seven players were drafted in the 2016 draft, including 10 in the first round and the number 3 overall selection.

 

Cooperstown Game at Doubleday Stadium

The team will play an exhibition game (or intra-quad game) at historic Doubleday Stadium in Cooperstown, NY, home of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Players will have ample time to visit the Hall

 

 

Housing Options

We offer different housing options from which to choose.

Dormitories at Onondaga Community College 
  • A variety of suites are available.
  • Players living in the dorms must purchase the meal plan.
  • Players living in the dorms have use of the fitness center.
  • OCC rules prohibit smoking, alcoholic beverages, pets (other than service animals).
Host Families
  • A limited number of host families are available.
  • Host families are not responsible for your transportation. You will need your own car,
  • Host families are located within 30 minutes of the ball park.

INSURANCE.  Players must have and maintain their own health insurance, either as a part of their families plan or an individual plan.  The player will be required to give the insurance company name and the policy number when he fills out the league contract form. The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League does not carry secondary insurance on any player.
