Cortland State Speedster Will Play Outfield Next Summer

Syracuse, NY 2017: The Onondaga Flames of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (www.pgcbl.com) announced today that Cortland State’s Colin BeVard.will join the team for the 2017 summer season. BeVard, a CNY and NYS Section III All-star while at West Genesee, compiled a slash line of .375/.485/.548 over his 4-year varsity high school career. He added 27 stolen bases, including 11 in his senior year.

“Colin has excellent speed and a strong arm making him a great outfield prospect.” remarked Ryan Stevens, Flames Director of Baseball, “We are very excited to have Colin join us.”

Team president Wayne Walker noted, “Colin has been clocked at 6.58 in the 60 yard dash, which is better than the average MLB player. Ricky Henderson for example, was a 6.4 guy and Ken Griffey Jr, 6.6. He  also has a big arm and actually pitched a no-hitter against a stellar CBA team while at West Genesee. That’s quite a combination.”

Colin is a freshman at SUNY Cortland and is the son of Eric and Margaret BeVard of Warners, NY.
