Sure-Handed Cornell Junior Joins Talented Infield
Syracuse NY May 19, 2017: The Onondaga Flames of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League announced today that Trey Bauer, Cornell starting first basemen, will play for them this summer season. The St Louis, MO product was a s a 2014 Perfect Game Preseason High School All-American.
At Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School (MICDS) Trey was a all-conference second team as a freshman. In his senior season, he posted a .512 batting average and led MICDS in doubles, home runs and slugging percentage. He was named to the all-conference first team and was tabbed as the team’s most valuable player. He was also twice team captain. Trey was selected to the Midwest Region team to try out for USA Baseball in Cary, N.C.
The 6’5″ 185 lb junior enjoyed an excellent season for the Big Red turning in a slash line of .301/.460/.380.
“We are excited to have Trey. He can hit and is an excellent fielder. This past season he committed only one error in 127 chances for an outstanding .992 fielding percentage.” commented Ryan Stevens, GM and Head Coach of the Flames.
Trey is the son of Laurie and Turner Baur of St Louis and has two sisters, Taylor and Peyton as well as a younger brother, Griffin. A national merit finalist, Trey is majoring in Applied Economics & Management at Cornell’s College of Arts and Sciences.
