Flames Sign Monroe CC Slugger Ricky Sisto

Liverpool Star Was 2015 CNY Co-Player of the Year

Syracuse NY December 22, 2016: The Onondaga Flames of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (www.pgcbl.com) today announced the signing of Monroe CC shortstop Richie Sisto. A two-sport athlete at Liverpool High, he earned three varsity letters in baseball and two in football. In his senior year, Richie posted a .412 batting average and an impressive .676 slugging percentage, including five home runs. He also scored 27 runs and drove in 42.

Sisto accumulated an impressive array of wards including 2015: All-CNY First Team, Co-CNY Player of the Year, First Team All-County, Third Team All-State, Perfect Game Preseason All-American and the American Legion Academic Excellence and Leadership Award.

“RIchie is another example of the outstanding baseball talent in the Syracuse area. We are certainly excited to have his bat in our lineup.” commented Ryan Stevens, Flames Director of Baseball.

Richie is the son of Franny and Rich Sisto of Liverpool, NY. He is majoring in Sports Leadership and Management.

Perfect Game League on the Rise

Syracuse, NY February 7, 2017: In only its sixth season, the PGCBL has established itself among the top wooden bat summer collegiate leagues in the nation. Over 1,500 players have gone on to play professional baseball.
The league league has drawn the attention of major league scouts by producing an impressive number of prospects. Below are the MLB draft selections from the league.

  • 2016 = 40 (13 in top 10 rounds)
  • 2015 = 43 (4 in top 10 rounds)
  • 2014 = 31 (7 in top 10 rounds)
  • 2013 = 31 (9 in top 10 rounds)
  • 2012 = 30 (5 in top 10 rounds)
League attendance topped 200,000 for the first time last season – more than the Cape Cod League!
