Webb Litte to Return to Onondaga CC Stadium for 2017 Summer Season
Syracuse, NY August 2016: The Onondaga Flames announced today that they have signed Ithaca College shortstop Webb Little to play in their inaugural 2017 season. Little played for the Syracuse Junior Chiefs (NYCBL) this past summer where he put up a slash line of .299/.368/.458 and an OPS of .826 in 40 games with 144 plate appearances. Little hit 2 HRs with 29 RBIs in the summer season.
Last year as a freshman at Ithaca College, Webb started in 39 games for the Bombers and was Empire 8 Conference Second Team all league selection. In 134 at bats, Webb got 44 hits and only struck out 11 times while compiling a .328 batting average with 30 RBIs.
Webb is the son of Bill and Missy Little of Fayetteville, NY. Webb’s twin brother, Sam, an outfielder, is also a key member of the Ithaca baseball team and will also play for the Flames next summer.
NY Region Rookie of the Year Sam Little to Join Onondaga Flames for 2017 Summer Season
Syracuse, NY September 15, 2016: The Onondaga Flames announced today that they have signed Ithaca College star Sam Little to play in the 2017 summer season. Named D3baseball.com New York Region Rookie of the Year and Third Team All-Region, Sam was also voted Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Year and First Team honoree as well as being named to Empire 8 All-Tournament Team as an Outfielder.
Little Started in all 42 games for the Bombers in his freshman year and logged 41 RBIs to compliment his .329 batting average.
Playing for the Syracuse Junior Chiefs (NYCBL) last summer, Sam had a slash line of .263/.382/.373 with an OPS of .754 He had 2 HRs and 24 RBIs in 43 games. An excellent performance for a freshman.
A sports management major, he is the son of Bill and Missy Little of Fayetteville. Sam’s twin brother, Webb, is also a member of the Bomber baseball team and will also play for the Flames next summer.
Syracuse, NY September 14, 2005: The Onondaga Flames of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, announced today that former Cornell Quarterback Kyle Gallagher will join the team for the 2017 summer season. Gallagher will also play for the Big Red baseball team this season as an outfielder.
A three-sport star in football. basketball and baseball at Maine-Endwell HS (yes, that Maine-Endwell) helping the baseball team to three straight sectional titles.
Flames Director of Baseball Ryan Stevens commented, “Kyle is a super athlete with great range and a very strong arm and we are excited to have him roaming the outfield for us next summer.”
Kyle is the son of Matt and Julie Gallagher and has two younger brothers.
Hard-hitting Canisius College Freshman Joins Newest PGCBL Team
Syracuse, NY September 8, 2016: Former Auburn High star Stephen Bennett will play for the Onondaga Flames, newest member of the PGCBL next summer. Director of Baseball for the Flames, Ryan Stevens commented, “I have been impressed by Bennett for some time and am pleased that we were able to land him. He is very athletic with good speed, quick footwork, soft hands and a strong arm. His hitting skills are impressive as well, which all adds up to a very high ceiling..”
Canisius College won the recruiting battle for the strong-armed third basemen who will start his college career next spring with the Golden Griffons. Bennett will join his new Canisius teammate Gage Lanning who will also join the Flames next summer.
Bennett was the Auburn Citizen’s 2015 Player of the Year and a former Baseball U Baseball Club player.
Herkimer CCC Generals Standout to Continue His Career at Canisius College
Syracuse, NY September 6, 2016: The Onondaga Flames announced today they have signed former Herkimer Community College star catcher Gage Lanning for the 2017 summer season.. The 6’1″, 207 lb. Lanning has enrolled at Canisius College and will play for the Golden Griffons with his remaining two years of NCAA eligibility.
After a remarkable career with Junior College baseball power Herkimer CCC, the power hitting catcher finished his HCCC career in style last year with an incredible .405 batting average and 48 RBIs in 40 games. In his 116 at bats, he struck out only 12 times while compiling a slash line of .405/.503/690. He was elected to the 2016 NJCAA Division III All-Region Team as First Team catcher. Gage played for the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League this past summer.
An excellent defensive catcher, Lanning finished the Generals 2016 season with a 1.000 fielding percentage. Only one runner managed a stolen base while he was behind the plate.
