Onondaga Flames Set to Return to NYCBL
Onondaga, N.Y. – The NYCBL is excited to announce that CNY Baseball, Inc is returning to play in the league with the Onondaga Flames. CNY had voluntarily suspended play last year in the NYCBL and the Flames played the 2017 season in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.  After a successful season, in which the Flames made the playoffs in their first year of play, the team has decided to return to the NYCBL for the 2018 season. The Flames, of Onondaga, NY will call Onondaga Community College home. Mike Cordero Named Flames New Head Coach
Onondaga, NY August 14, 2017: The Onondaga Flames announced today that Mike Cordero will be their new Head Coach for the 2018 summer season. Cordero, currently Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Santa Barbara City College, has over 13 years of coaching experience ranging from high school to NCAA Division 1 levels. Over his career, Mike has coached in the postseason 11 times, winning six league championships. He has had over a dozen players playing professionally. "Mike is a bright young coach with a record of excellence wherever he has coached. Bowman, the Flames closer, appeared in 17 games, pitched 25 innings and allowed only 6 earned runs to post a 3-2 won-lost record and log 7 saves. Matt struck out 20 while only walking 11. The big right-hander struck out 20 while walking only 11 and allowed 25 hits with only 3 going for extra bases. The top-seeded Jammers will play the No. 3 Elmira Pioneers tomorrow in the West Division Championship Series opener at Diethrick Park, beginning at 7:05 p.m. The Flames took an early by scoring one run in the top of the first, as Trey Baur (Cornell) singled and later scored when Sam Little (Ithaca) doubled to make it 1-0 Flames. JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - In the 2017 regular-season finale, the Jamestown Jammers defeated the Onondaga Flames, 8-5, with a late game surge to secure the win. The Jammers finished the regular season with a 34-15 record and the Onondaga Flames finished with a 23-26 record. These two teams will face off again tomorrow in the first round of the West Division playoffs at 7:05 p.m. at Diethrick Park. The Flames jumped out an early lead by scoring two runs on two hits in the top of the first. They would add another run in the top of the third to make it 3-0 Flames. Dutchmen Thump Flames in Home Finale at Onondaga

Onondaga, NY-  The Albany Dutchmen (31-16) scored 13 runs in the final four innings of Sunday’s game against the Onondaga Flames (23-25) to secure a 14-2 victory at Onondaga Community College. The Dutchmen came into the sixth inning trailing 2-1 before getting the late game scoring started with an RBI triple by Justin Childers (Ohio Dominican University). Childers then scored on an error by catcher Camillo Spinoso (Le Moyne College) to give Albany a 3-2 lead. Two batters later Chris Villa (Seton Hall University) reached on an error by shortstop Carsen Negrete (Gonzaga University).  The error allowed Jon Skidmore (Dallas Baptist University) and Zach Durfee (Siena College) to score and give the Dutchmen a 5-2 lead.
