No.1 Jammers Beat No. 4 Flames, 3-2, in Extras

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - In a thrilling first round match-up, the Jamestown Jammers won 3-2 on a walk-off single by John Conti (Canisius) to beat the Onondaga Flames in the bottom of the 11th. The top-seeded Jammers will play the No. 3 Elmira Pioneers tomorrow in the West Division Championship Series opener at Diethrick Park, beginning at 7:05 p.m. The Flames took an early by scoring one run in the top of the first, as Trey Baur (Cornell) singled and later scored when Sam Little (Ithaca) doubled to make it 1-0 Flames. In the top of the fourth the Flames added another run to make it 2-0 Flames when Alex Canty (Monroe CC) singled that scored a run. The Jammers would tie the game up in the bottom of the frame as they scored two runs on two hits. Jammers Complete Comeback, Beat Flames 8-5

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - In the 2017 regular-season finale, the Jamestown Jammers defeated the Onondaga Flames, 8-5, with a late game surge to secure the win. The Jammers finished the regular season with a 34-15 record and the Onondaga Flames finished with a 23-26 record. These two teams will face off again tomorrow in the first round of the West Division playoffs at 7:05 p.m. at Diethrick Park. The Flames jumped out an early lead by scoring two runs on two hits in the top of the first. They would add another run in the top of the third to make it 3-0 Flames. The Jammers would cut into that lead in the bottom of the third by scoring two runs on one hit to make it 3-2 Flames after three innings. Dutchmen Thump Flames in Home Finale at Onondaga

Onondaga, NY-  The Albany Dutchmen (31-16) scored 13 runs in the final four innings of Sunday’s game against the Onondaga Flames (23-25) to secure a 14-2 victory at Onondaga Community College. The Dutchmen came into the sixth inning trailing 2-1 before getting the late game scoring started with an RBI triple by Justin Childers (Ohio Dominican University). Childers then scored on an error by catcher Camillo Spinoso (Le Moyne College) to give Albany a 3-2 lead. Two batters later Chris Villa (Seton Hall University) reached on an error by shortstop Carsen Negrete (Gonzaga University).  The error allowed Jon Skidmore (Dallas Baptist University) and Zach Durfee (Siena College) to score and give the Dutchmen a 5-2 lead. Flames in Battle for Playoff Spot
Onondaga, NY July 17, 2017: The Onondaga Flames in their first year in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League are battling for a Western Division playoff spot. Currently in fourth place (the last playoff spot), the Flames are ahead of the Adirondack Trail Blazers and Newark Pilots by 3 and 4.5 games, respectively. The 16-20 Flames have 13 games remaining and play Adirondack and Newark 5 times. The future is clearly in the Flames' hands. The Flames, the youngest team in the league with 88% of it players sophomores or younger, have proven they can compete at the PGCBL's high caliber of play. They have beaten such league powerhouses as the Jamestown Jammers and Albany Dutchmen, both nationally ranked teams. During one eleven game stretch, the Flames won 9 games, including eight in-a-row. Flames All-Star Alex Canty Commits to SEMO
Onondaga, NY July 14, 2017: Onondaga Flames PGCBL All-Star Selection Alex Canty has committed to attend Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) and will play baseball for the Redhawks next season. Canty, a middle infielder, recently graduated from Monroe Community College and will be a junior at SEMO. He will join Flames teammate Chase Hagerty at Cape Girardeau. SEMO has an enrollment of 12,000 and is a D-1 program in the Ohio Valley Conference, They have won the conference regular season baseball championship 3 of the last 4 seasons. Canty was recently honored by coaches of the PGCBL as a 2017 All-Star. The versatile Canty, has played second base, shortstop and third base for the Onondaga Flames collegiate summer league team. Flames Well-Represented on All-Star/Prospect Teams Onondaga, NY July 13, 2017: Ten Onondaga Flames players have been selected for the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Games on July 18, 2017 at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam, NY. This year's All-Star Day has two games featuring All-Stars selected for their performance thus far in league play and a Prospect Team selected for draft potential. Both teams are selected by a vote of each division's coaches. The Flames All-Star selections are Kyle Gallagher (Cornell), Gage Lanning (Canisius), Alex Canty (Monroe CC), Trent Schulte (Gonzaga) and Matt Bowman (SUNY Broome). Gallagher (.297/.341/.351) has been a consistent performer all season and leads the Flames with 14 RBI's. Kyle has been solid in left field as well. He will be a senior at Cornell in the fall.
