David Dennis Named Flames Assistant Coach
May 19, 2018 Onondaga, NY: The Onondaga Flames of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (@NYCBLbaseball) announced today that David Dennis will joins the Flames for the 2018 season as an assistant coach. David just completed his first season with the Willamette University Bearcats (@WillametteBSB) as Assistant Coach working with infielders and outfielders, while serving as the team’s first base coach. Dennis has several years of experience as a player and a coach at various levels of baseball. He played collegiate ball at the College of Idaho from 2007-09. Dennis recently coached the Storm Lake White Caps, an expansion team in the Pioneer Collegiate Summer Baseball League. He led Storm Lake to a second place regular season finish and helped the Whitecaps win the PCSBL Championship. He served as the vice president of the Reno Blue Devils Baseball Academy from 2010-13. Will Chapman Joins Flames Coaching Staff
May 15, 2018 Onondaga, NY: The Onondaga Flames of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) announced today that Will Chapman, Volunteer Assistant Coach at Cal State San Bernardino, will join the team as a new Assistant Coach for the 2018 summer season. As the hitting and outfield coach Will did analysis of hitting tendencies for the Coyotes and served as the bench coach during games, Will also had responsibilities for recruiting and scouting. Will has been a Volunteer Assistant Baseball Coach at Queens College, New York, Assistant coach for the Garden City Wind (Garden City Kansas, Pecos League Independent Pro League), He has also been a Personal Trainer at a New York Sports Club,. Onondaga, NY April 14, 2018: The Onondaga Flames will open the 2018 season against the Syracuse Salt Cats at Onondaga Community College Baseball Complex on June 1st at 7:00 PM. The New York Collegiate Baseball League contest pits friendly rivals that share the same home field. The defending Eastern Division Champion Salt Cats are the home team for this game. The Flames and Salt Cats are both in the Eastern Division along with the Syracuse Spartans, Rome Generals, Cortland Crush and the Sherrill Silversmiths. Cortland, NY – The New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) and Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL) have partnered to create an All-Star Showcase between the two leagues. This newly formed summer classic will showcase All-Stars from both leagues beginning with the summer of 2018. The NYCBL and ACBL are both members of the National Alliance of Summer College Baseball (NACSB). Both leagues are amongst the oldest and respected summer collegiate wooden bat leagues in the country. Tim Locastro (pictured) has made appearances for the Los Angeles Dodgers in his first two major league games against the Colorado Rockies.
