Flames Open Against Salt Cats June 1st
Onondaga, NY April 14, 2018: The Onondaga Flames will open the 2018 season against the Syracuse Salt Cats at Onondaga Community College Baseball Complex on June 1st at 7:00 PM. The New York Collegiate Baseball League contest pits friendly rivals that share the same home field. The defending Eastern Division Champion Salt Cats are the home team for this game. The Flames and Salt Cats are both in the Eastern Division along with the Syracuse Spartans, Rome Generals, Cortland Crush and the Sherrill Silversmiths. Flames Announce Veterans Night Sunday, July 1st
April 12, 218 Onondaga, NY: The Onondaga Flames of the New York Collegiate Baseball;ll League (NYCBL) announced today that Veterans' Night will be held on Sunday, July 1st with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 PM. The Flames will play league rival Rome Generals at Onondaga Community College baseball complex at Onondaga Road and Collegiate Drive in Onondaga Hill. Veterans will be admitted free. The festivities will include games, drawings, giveaways and on-field entertainment as well as honoring our Vets with a brief pregame ceremony. Tickets may be purchased on line at https://www.ticketor.com/onondagaflames or at the gate. Don't forget to register for the Flames Pick 4 $10,000 grand prize contest. Flames Name Robert Anders Pitching Coach for 2018 Season
April 6, 2018 Onondaga, NY: The Onondaga Flames of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) announced today that Robert Anders, Howard Payne University Assistant Coach, has been named the Pitching Coach for the upcoming summer season.  No stranger to the NYCBL having played for the Alfred Oilers (forerunner to today's Wellsville Nitros) in 2009 and 2010, Robert returns to the league for the first time as a coach. A native of Midlothian, Texas, Anders is an HPU graduate and former Yellow Jacket player. Following his college playing career at Howard Payne, Robert transitioned to the HPU coaching staff in the Fall of 2011.  His duties in the program include working with the outfielders and pitching staff as well as assisting in the programs recruiting efforts. NYCBL and ACBL create All-Star Game Showcase
Cortland, NY – The New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) and Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL) have partnered to create an All-Star Showcase between the two leagues. This newly formed summer classic will showcase All-Stars from both leagues beginning with the summer of 2018. The NYCBL and ACBL are both members of the National Alliance of Summer College Baseball (NACSB). Both leagues are amongst the oldest and respected summer collegiate wooden bat leagues in the country. Tim Locastro (pictured) has made appearances for the Los Angeles Dodgers in his first two major league games against the Colorado Rockies. Locastro is an alumus of the NYCBL having payed for the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs (now the Onondaga Flames) in the 2012 summer season. Tim swiped his first base of the season on Saturday September 30th. Onondaga, N.Y. – The NYCBL is excited to announce that CNY Baseball, Inc is returning to play in the league with the Onondaga Flames.
