Wings Sweep Doubleheader of Flames

The Geneva Red Wings (16-6) would move to 10 games over .500 on Monday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of the Onondaga Flames (12-8). Game 1 The Flames would get on the board first in the top of the opening frame, scoring on an E6. The Red Wings would respond in the bottom of the 2nd, pushing across 4 runs in the frame. A Trustin Riley (University of Tampa) 2 RBI single would get Geneva on the scoreboard. An RBI single from Matt Chamberlain (University of New Haven) and an RBI fielder’s choice from Justin Barr (Central Alabama CC) would put the Wings up on top, 4-1. Another pair of RBI singles from Matt Smith (UC Davis) and Justin Barr would extend the lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the 4th. Flames Use Five-Run Eighth Inning to Win Sixth Straight

ONONDAGA, N.Y. - The Onondaga Flames (12-6) beat the Newark Pilots (4-15) for the fourth time in less than a week on Sunday, as the Flames pulled away for a 9-3 victory at Onondaga Community College. The Flames came into the bottom of the eighth with a one-run lead.  Trey Baur (Cornell University) got things started with a double and then moved to third on a single from Sam Little (Ithaca College).  Baur then scored on a passed ball. Two batters later Stephen Bennett (Canisius College) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force home the Flames sixth run of the game. The Flames then scored their second run of the inning via a passed ball when Matt Carey (Ithaca College) came home with Anthony Scalzo (Gonzaga University) at the plate. Onondaga Edges Albany in 4-3 Contest on Ricky Sisto’s 3-Run Double

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Onondaga Flames (11-6) emerged victorious by a score of 4-3 in a back and forth contest against the Albany Dutchmen (10-7) by surviving a ninth inning in which Albany loaded the bases with only one out. Matt Bowman (SUNY Broome) the Flames closer, entered the ninth inning with a one-run lead.  The Dutchmen rallied on a Chase Allen (Limestone) single, a Brandt Holland (North Alabama) single, a wild pitch by Dunn, and an intentional walk to Jon Skidmore (Dallas Baptist).  The opportunity for the Dutchmen to score a comeback win went out the window as Zach Durfee (Siena) popped out to the catcher and Brad Gneiting (Rice) struck out looking after battling his way back from a 0-2 count to a 3-2 count. June 14, 2017 Perfect game Collegiate Baseball League: The 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft concluded after 40 rounds and over 1,200 selections on Wednesday afternoon. Forty Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) alumni were taken in this year’s draft, adding to the growing number of former PGCBLers in the professional ranks. The Amsterdam Mohawks led all PGCBL teams with 11 former players taken in the draft, in addition to one 2017 signee in Max Roberts (Wabash Valley). In what might be the first collaboration of its kind, the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League has partnered with Johns Hopkins University to create its 2017 regular season schedule. "Like every other collegiate summer league, we usually spend weeks working by hand to develop our upcoming season schedule.
